Sara is a Board Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife with 18 years of experience in women’s health care and 8 years of midwifery experience. She graduated with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Utah in 2016.

 

Sara’s goal is to provide meaningful midwifery care in her community. She hasbeen positively impacted by the care and support she has received from nurse midwives throughout her life. Sara strives to provide the same level of care to the women she cares for. She loves to help women through health and life issues, support their decisions, provide care throughout labor, and cheer them on when they give birth to their babies. She collaborates with other caregivers in her area to enhance birthing environments in hospitals and birthing centers to be supportive of women and their health care choices.

 

Sara recognizes birth as a natural and normal process and not a medical procedure. She advocates for women by promoting an environment that supports the process of birth and decreases fear and anxiety for childbearing women and their families. She offers care in an environment that is warm, welcoming, and supportive of individual needs and desires. She loves to be a health teacher and uses the most current and relevant research available to provide information to patients.

Renee’ is a Certified Nurse Midwife who is deeply passionate about supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth, and beyond with compassion, knowledge, and intention. Her care blends clinical expertise with a warm, relationship-centered approach that prioritizes trust, education, and empowerment.

 

Renee’ earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky, graduating in 2023. She has been a Labor and Delivery nurse since 2011 and has spent her career actively engaged in birth work as a doula, bedside nurse, and now midwife—bringing a depth of experience and perspective to the families she serves.

 

In 2024, she began providing high-risk obstetric care in Laurinburg, North Carolina, supporting patients with complex pregnancies while maintaining a strong commitment to individualized, respectful care. With experience in both high-risk and physiologic birth settings, Renee’ offers a well-rounded, evidence-based approach while honoring the natural processes of the body.

 

Known for her calming presence and genuine connection, Renee’ creates a warm, supportive, and engaging care environment. She enjoys using humor as a tool for teaching and connection, helping patients feel at ease while building confidence and understanding throughout their journey.

 

Outside of clinical practice, Renee’ enjoys designing intentional spaces, solving escape rooms, and pouring into others as a natural encourager and advocate—because she believes care doesn’t stop at the bedside, it extends into how people feel seen, supported, and empowered in everyday life.

Elisabeth Howard is a Certified Nurse Midwife with Haven. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana University East in Richmond, Indiana, in 2016, and worked in acute rehab and telemetry as an RN. She went on to earn her master’s degree in nurse midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, Kentucky, in 2022. Elisabeth practiced as a midwife in a hospital-based practice in Cordele, Georgia, from January 2023 to March 2025.

Elisabeth enjoys providing the full spectrum of midwifery care, including routine wellness care, pregnancy and postpartum care, contraceptive care, and attending family births. She is committed to offering supportive and individualized care for the whole person.

Outside of midwifery, Elisabeth is married and has three beautiful daughters. Her family has a small hobby farm, loves animals, and cherishes spending time outdoors together. Elisabeth also enjoys playing board and card games and reading.

Tracey comes to Haven with 28 years of nursing experience, both in and out of hospital. She started her nursing career as a Navy Nurse, then worked in the Raleigh area as a labor and mother/baby nurse for most of the last 2 decades. She took her passion for maternal and newborn nursing back to school and earned her Master’s in Nurse-Midwifery from East Carolina University.

Tracey is passionate about the midwifery model of care, which focuses on the whole person and family unit, shared decision-making, and supporting women’s autonomy in their pregnancy and birth care. She is excited to provide holistic, family-friendly care and develop relationships with Haven clients.

Tracey is a breast cancer survivor and is passionate about early disease detection and encouraging women to know and care for their bodies. She is always willing to discuss breast cancer prevention, detection, and treatment with her clients.

​Tracey is married to Matt and has 3 teenage children and a menagerie of pets at home. When she is not working, she enjoys reading and jigsaw puzzles. But she and Matt particularly love traveling-if they are not working or relaxing at home, you will most likely find them on a cruise ship exploring some other country!

Roxanne has long felt called to support women and families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. She began her journey in nursing, graduating in 2012 from The College at Brockport, State University of New York. She then served for over seven years in the Army Nurse Corps, where she specialized in women’s health, supporting families through labor, birth, and postpartum care.

 

After leaving the military to grow her own family, Roxanne continued her work in both hospital and community birth settings, deepening her passion for physiologic birth and family-centered care. In 2025, she earned her Midwifery degree from Frontier Nursing University and is honored to now serve families at Haven, providing care from preconception through postpartum and beyond.

 

Roxanne’s personal experiences as a mother of four, having given birth in hospital, birth center, and home settings, shape her compassionate, individualized approach to care. She is passionate about empowering families with evidence-based education and supporting them in making informed decisions that align with their values.

 

Outside of her work, Roxanne enjoys reading, doing puzzles, and spending time at the beach with her husband, Patrick, and their children.

Lakeesha CNM, RNC-OB brings a wealth of clinical experience in inpatient obstetrics and holistic maternal care to Haven Women’s Health and Birth. Her practice is built on a foundation of clinical excellence, passionate advocacy, and true partnership with families. Deeply dedicated to honoring the transformative journey of childbirth, she strives to create a safe, nurturing space where every person feels heard, respected, and fully supported throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum care.

 

Her connection to birth work is deeply personal. Growing up as an Army brat gave her an early appreciation for community, resilience, and adaptability—qualities that define how she connects with her patients. She first stepped into motherhood in 2009 and welcomed her youngest in 2022. She experienced disparities in her OB care as a young mother and used that to fuel her drive to make a difference. As a mother of four, she intimately understands the physical, emotional, and spiritual shifts that come with growing a family, allowing her to offer care backed by both clinical expertise and genuine life experience.

 

Outside of the clinic, she thrives on staying active and creative. Whether she’s working out, hiking through the woods, or traveling to explore new places, she loves staying in motion. A creative spirit at heart, she also enjoys painting and redecorating, continually bringing warmth and intentional design into her personal spaces.
